A new baby is born

Today, June 7, 2009, my niece was born. She is 9 lbs, 9 oz, and 23 inches long. Big baby indeed. She has a wee bit of strawberry-blonde hair. Oh and her name is not Melanie Amelia. Tegan and my brother decided on the name Penelope Violet. I really love it. Big sis Emily Mae, 2, is adjusting.

I drove from Seattle to Portland to see her. She looks exactly like Tegan. Emily does as well. Lucky girls.

Its been forever since I posted here. I don't have anything exciting in my life so I'll give you an update on my preggo sis-in-law.

Oh but first my niece is going to be 21 months this month. I don't think I've ever said her name. Her full name is Emily Mae.

Tegan is 25 weeks pregnant, or six months along. She is in her second trimester, but only for a few more weeks. They (my brother and her) decided not to find out the sex. But they have names picked out. Casey Andrew for a boy (I hate it) and Melanie Amelia for a girl (I actually like it).

My brother and his wife are expecting child numero dos. They just had a kid! 16, almost 17, months ago! Why can't people wait 4 or 5 years? Tegan, my sister in law, is about 6 weeks along. June 1, 2009 is the due date. My niece will just barely be 2!

There are many reasons why I dislike living in the United States, and elections are reason numero uno. Not elections themselves, just the bullshit that surrounds them. If I get asked one more time by some wannabe rebel with a tongue piercing if I'm registered to vote, or if I believe in change, I'm going to snap a neck. Stop fucking asking me who I'm voting for. It's none of your biz. And just to get those tye dye wearing freaks pissed, I say "Oh me? Yeah I don't vote." There face is too funny.

Its hard deciding who I think the next president should be. Especially when you're an Independent. An old guy that could croak at any second, which would leave his redneck, female version of Bush in charge? Where the hell did he get the fucking gov of Alaska? Alaska?! Or a guy with hardly any experience with anything that believes in 'change.' What exactly is change Obama? Could you elaborate? That's all I hear from you. Empty promises. *Sigh* maybe we Americans are too picky. Nobody's perfect. I just need to move. Canada seems lovely. Maybe even England.

So I watched my 16-month-old niece today. Boy that was a fucking experience. My brother and his wife are up from Portland and the last time I saw this niece of mine she had just come from being a fetus. She's a cute kid but I'm definitly not having kids. Not trying to be selfish, just saving a child from a terrible mother. I'm way too sarcastic and pessimistic. But I did enjoy watching sesame street : )

My middle is sister is living with me, and she owns a pet tarantula. Some kind of funnel web thingy. It's so disgusting. I'm suppose to feed it a live mouse in a few minutes. *Shudders* Poor mouse : ( Maybe I'll just throw in some of left over crickets from her iguana. Yeah she's a weird pet fan. She's had an iguana, a rubber boa, a parrot, a scorpion, and a stone fish all in her short 25 years. Maybe she should get a boyfriend...

So I decided to do some grocery shopping after work, and well had an interesting moment. I can never decide on bread and was pondering on several, when a teenage girl, maybe 14ish, came up to me and asks: "Can I like give you like a compliment?" (Who fucking asks to give a compliment?) I was slightly taken aback but replied "Sure."
Her: "You totally look like a short, slightly chubbier Paris Hilton."
Me: "Errrr, what the fuck?" I then proceeded to walk away, but tried to contemplate which part of that was suppose to be a compliment. I haven't been called fat since like, lemme think, at least three years. Maybe it's time to go on a diet again...Or maybe I should dye my hair? Idk....

Work sucked. No color film for me so I wasted $3.95 for a roll at the store.

First post and I guess I'll post about my life. I'm clinically depressed, so says the shrink. She told me to buy a journal and write in it. But I told her that it was a waste of my time and paper so she told me about this place.

I'm Kari Haiger. That's pronounced care-ee hay-ger. I'm 21. I live in Seattle, Washington. I don't go to college even though my parents would like me to. I work as a receptionist at a photography studio, even though I wish I was the one taking the pictures. I plan on uploading some of my pics later. I like the fashion world, strange and bizarre as it may be. I'm really picky when it comes to movies, books, and music.

So yeah I don't know what else to say but I guess this is a good enough start. Peace.
